WELCOME
Welcome and Congratulations to all our new students for 2012. We look forward to working with you as you embark on your journey of theological study and reflection. Also welcome back to our current students. We trust you’ve enjoyed a well deserved Christmas break and look forward to seeing you again.

OPENING SERVICE
All are welcome to join us for our UTC Opening Service for the start of the new Academic Year. Mon 20 February at St Andrews Chapel, Centre for Ministry,

.  Starting at 10am.

ORIENTATION

FROM THE ACADEMIC DESK
Much news on the academic front already this year.

Congratulations to Katalina Tahaafe-Williams who has edited, with internationally renowned theologian Stephen Bevans, a book of essays on contextual theology: Contextual Theology for the Twenty-First Century (Eugene, Oregon: Pickwick Publications 2011).  It contains essays by UTC’s Jione Havea and Chris Budden along with one from James Haire from CSU.

Ben Myers is currently away on study leave but will be back teaching with us in second session.   Clive Pearson is slated for study leave in the second session of this year.

Welcome to Dr Ruth Sheridan, who has commenced a two year post doctoral fellowship with us.   You will see her around, and Ruth will take part in the graduate seminars.

Carolyn Craig-Emilsen will be teaching COM120 on behalf of CSU
Congrats to Bec Lindsay recipient of the 2011 University Medal.

RESEARCH SEMINARS
