Songs that Unite is a publishing project being undertaken by the Assembly - the first attempt in 35 years of the Uniting Church – to develop a worship resource which is specifically oriented to supporting the theological and liturgical tradition of the Uniting Church – in a way that encourages contemporary Australian expressions of faith in words and music.

The goal is to encourage writing which is non-sexist; communal, culturally appropriate; inclusive, accessible to the majority and has imagery that is contextually appropriate and theologically sound.

Specific dimensions of theology that the Assembly wants to encourage include the love of Christ for all people, an emphasis on grace and forgiveness, care for creation, peace-making, ecumenical respect and justice.

Thank you all for continuing to use the recycling bins in the kitchen.

This week the student kitchen has been reorganised and a “Student Pantry” area has been set up for the benefit of all members of the UTC Community. Donations of food to set up the Student Pantry and as needed in the future are very welcome. There is more information about the Pantry in the Kitchen. Donations can be left in the corner cupboard labelled “Student Pantry”. Items that are suggested as suitable to donate include Rice Cakes, Soups, Noodles, Muesli Bars or whatever items you prefer to eat and would like to have on hand. Please, if you decide to use the Pantry, replace items that you use regularly, or consider making a donation to assist the Student Association to restock the Pantry.

The Student Association would also like to encourage students to avoid using disposable cups. Disposable cups are still available for use in the kitchen, but there are many other cups and mugs above the sink in the kitchen that students are welcome to use. Please wash these up and put them away after use. Students who have brought their own mugs to the college will now find them in a marked cupboard in the kitchen.

In tidying the kitchen many items were found that have been left in the kitchen by students past and present. They are located in a crate near the kitchen and any items not collected by 27th July will be donated to a good cause.

If you have any questions or suggestions about these changes, please contact Suzanne Stanton (Hospitality Committee) or any of the Student Association Executive members.
