FROM THE ACADEMIC DESK

The College hosted John Dominic Crossan to a seminar/discussion last Friday.  He was a model of scholarship, research and enthusiasm as he spoke to his most recent research on violence and Jesus, while fielding questions across the range of his works and interest.   It was great for the College to engage with such a generous and gentle spirit.

This Friday is our own research day, with at least three presentations from the School of Theology faculty: Andrew Thornley, Peter Pocock and Ben Myers

FROM THE FACULTY

Compassion has written to express their thanks for the organization and lively response they received from UTC to Marcia Bunge’s visit in July, discussing Child Theology. If anyone would like an audio copy of the lecture, please contact the College Secretary.

Ben Myers would like to draw our attention to a new site created by one of our PhD students, Matt Wilcoxen. The site has been developed as a way of notifying people about theology events in Sydney, http://www.theologyinsydney.com. If you have events you would like to promote, the email address for submissions is theologyinsydney@gmail.com
