FROM THE CHAPEL
The
college holds a service of Word and Sacrament every Wednesday at 11.45. All welcome.
Lectionary Pent 7, 2 Sm 6:1-5, 12b-19, Ps 24, Eph 1:3-14, Mk 6:14-29
(Green). As well, Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday at College begin with communal
morning prayer at 9.25 and then to classes at 9.40. All welcome.

11 July – World Population Day – This
year's theme is “Universal Access to Reproductive Health Services.”
Reproductive health problems remain the leading cause of ill health and death
for women of childbearing age worldwide. Nearly 800 women die every day in the
process of giving life. On the World Population Day, many activities and
campaigns will call attention to the essential part that reproductive health
plays in creating a just and equitable world. For more information

Wednesday, 11 July 2012, 7.30pm - Lecture by Professor
Paul Dafydd Jones on “Patience and passion – Christian the ology
after Karl Barth” at the Centre for
Ministry. Paul
has written numerous articles and essays on systematic, political, and
constructive the ology. The lecture will be followed by
a response by Matthe w Wilcoxen and the evening will be chaired by Ben Myers . Supper to follow.
Seminar with Professor Marcia Bunge on
Tuesday 24 July, 1.30-3.00pm in G3 – please note
that all students are encouraged to attend this seminar. Please RSVP the College Secretary, suzannec@nsw.uca.org.au. Professor Bunge serves on the international
board of the Child Theology Movement (www.childtheology.org) and steering
committees of the American
Academy of Religion. She
is the Director of “The Child in Religion and Ethics Project. Her current area
of research is religious understandings of children and childhood and she has
edited or co-edited four volumes on the subject. Please note the public lecture is from 7.30 pm (not 7.00pm).
Rev
Harry Herbert’s “Director’s Cut” Farewell will be held 2 August 2012,
4.30-7.00pm at the CFM. Rev Herbert is a strong
public voice on issues of injustice and actively advocates on behalf of service
users of UnitingCare. All are welcome to join this evening of reflections and
insights from the retiring Executive

Hannam Student Graduation will be held on Friday 17 August 2012, 4.00-9.30pm in
the Dining Room. If you would like to

25th Anniversary of the Centre for Ministry – please claim Sunday 7 October in your diaries to celebrate 25 years of ministry at the CFM and over 100 years of forming people and transforming lives within the Burnside property. More details to come.

FROM THE STUDENT ASSOCIATION
Wednesday Community Lunches are held after the 11.45 Communion Service. Lunch is
approx 1pm. Everyone is welcome to join students and staff in this activity.
The cost is $40 per semester payable to John Barker, the treasurer.
